About PTSD

PTSD999 Is a completely new and independent organisation funded by private donations. It’s unique in the way it will provides support; the majority of its trustees, administrators and most importantly doctors and counselling staff have served in the Emergency Services and/or Military and suffered PTSD, or have close ties with someone who has. This enables us to understand exactly the unique un-written bond that ties us all together.

Our remit is simply to provide you with help, advice and confidential treatment, provided by people who have done the job you do.

To ensure that the Emergency services do not suffer in silence but have access to the resources and support they deserve and need. To remove the stigma, embarrassment and worry about asking for help without fear of going on their record and fear of loosing everything. We aim to deliver support in a timely manner in an environment based on respect, kindness and collaboration that serves not only the individual but where needed the whole family.

To provide independent and confidential treatment of PTSD along with welfare support and advice to all members of the Emergency services who are suffering from psychological wounds.

As a former solider and member of 22 SAS, I have served at the sharp end of most conflicts of the 20th century. Having been captured and tortured at the hands of the enemy, I understand the mental trauma associated with being in the Armed Forces. Soldiers suffering from PTSD are now getting the help they need.Emergency Service workers however are the everyday forgotten heroes. Through the course of a week, they deal with stabbings, suicides, road deaths, murders, rapes and terrorist attacks. 87% of Emergency Service workers suffer some form of mental trauma. resulting in depression, loss of job and heartache at home. The charity PTSD999 is working hard to change the way we deal with PTSD. I fully support them and our Emergency Services.

PTSD999 10622791 is a social enterprise run entirely by volunteers.

Yesterday we where hugely privileged to be part of the City of London Police Grenfell Tower Demobilisation event to talk about Post Traumatic Stress.
Personally, it was one of the most humbling and informative presentations I have attended. The extent that DVI (Disaster Victim Identification) teams and supporting organisations went to to identify and treat the victims with dignity is without doubt nothing short of outstanding. Your professionalism and commitment to the job is awe inspiring, Thank you.
