Treatment Process

Treatment Process

Everyone that you speak to has either worked in the military, emergency services or has close ties with someone who has.

Currently we have over 80 clinical specialists, who are without doubt second to none, although we try to use a little humour in what we do to break down the barriers of mental health, everyone’s a little crazy right?  We take the the clinical side very seriously and as such we only employ some of the best specialists in and around the UK.  All of our doctors are fully trained and certified in trauma focused therapy.

Phase 1
Establish Safety & Trust

If you have got this far, well done!

Self Help

This is your first step to getting your stuff back in order, let’s talk through what’s going on and try to get some semblance of order back.  Why not write down what’s going on in your life, all the things that are causing you anguish. It can be historic stuff, current issues, money, kids, family, work, health, relationship …anything.  Then give us a call or fire across an email.

This is a great way to prepare yourself before you see a clinical specialist.  It helps you to talk and open up and gives us a feel for which doctor would be best suited for you. We are all a little crazy and react differently with different people. For you to get the best result, we need to put you with the right person. You may have been abused as a child, so would benefit from someone with experience in that area or you may be struggling with drink and sleeping and need a different approach.

Phase 2
Trauma Focused Therapy

A clinical assessment, it’s NOT joss sticks and candles!

So, once it’s been agreed that you need to go for an assessment, a specialist will contact you and arrange a time and a location and clinic that works for you. The assessment usually takes about 1 hour, just go and relax and be honest and open. From there you will be given advice and you will get an idea of what’s going on in your head, it could be, low self-esteem, depression or PTS.

Our Doctor will recommend a course of treatment.  It could be Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) talking therapy or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a form of psychotherapy that uses eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation.  It may even be some other form of treatment or a combination.

Your treatment can be carried out on rest days or during the evenings when convenient and agreed with the Doctor.

Phase 3
Reintegration

Throughout your treatment period you will be growing stronger and stronger and learning more about yourself and what makes you tick. We will give you advice and support beyond your treatment and help give you the confidence in all aspects of your life. If its decided you’re going to move on from your current job, we will advise and help you to find a new career doing something you feel comfortable doing. Our business champions are keen to retrain, write CVs and do what needs to be done to give you back a life worth living.
